"Uni"
is the dam of Echo, Finny, Sid, Roc, Buster (and Izzy pictured when he was a
puppy, to the
right). Uni was 9 years old in 2000 and was out in the
Veteran classes at Specialty Shows. In her prime she had
some very nice conformation wins over Specials, including a Group 1st at
Scarborough Kennel Club! She has had a Veteran Group 2nd at the Belleville
Kennel Club Invitational Match, January 1999, won the Veteran Bitch Class
at the Ontario Sighthound Specialty Show, June 1999 (photo above) and as
well, has been out racing that year! During 1999 she has completed
the necessary legs towards her Veteran Straight Racer title & just
about completed her Veteran Oval Racer championship title when we decided to
retire her at 10 years of age!

adores his handler, Tamara.
WILLIE'S PEDIGREE

companionship. Just some of Willie's accomplishments:

was handled by his Junior Handler, Tamara Foley (she is 10 years of age).
We unfortunately missed the photo opportunity at the time, but here is one

- 2005 - September 10th, CASA Sighthound Specialty
Show, Richmond, Ontario, Willie went BVIS, BOB from the VETERANS class, Best
Veteran In Specialty Show. This was a phenomenal, unprecedented win for
a dog well into his 12 year. Here is the photo (apologies for the poor

- 2006 - July 15th, Whippet Club of
Eastern Canada Specialty
Show, Milton, Ontario, Willie went Best
Veteran In Sweeps and again In Specialty Show. He turned 12 two months
previous to this. He bikes 3 to 5 kms a few times a week (MORE
than willingly) and begged to straight race a weekend prior to
this show, finishing each and every program without hesitation). I feel
that if he is begging me to run, and he never pushes or tries beyond what he
feels, that this brings him great joy and I would not deny him. He only
asks to race when he feels up to it and I don't allow him to run more than one
program of ovals. Here is the photo from the Specialty:

These achievements
speak for themselves...Willie is a phenomenally sound athlete with incredible drive and consistency.
He has an awesome temperament...and is always the consummate gentleman. He
loves children, even though he was never raised with them. He is a trooper
in the Junior Handling ring and never complains. Although Willie will be in semi-retirement from 2001 onward, we look forward
to him having fun during his golden years. Willie was bred to
Ch. Lepus Chien Tang
(Tara), in the Spring of 2004. The litter was whelped June 18th, 2004.
Already we see outstanding
temperaments, health and soundness in this litter. To see a 5
generation PHOTO pedigree of this 5th generation NR/raw litter (with inbreeding coefficients)

Willie was whelped:
May 18, 1994
Cerf. Clear 1998, VWD
Clear. Heart, Thyroid normal. Height 21 5/8"/Weight 33 lbs summer, 35 lbs
winter. He is 2nd generation N.R.
Sadly, Willie passed away on Friday October 13th,
2006. He died in his mom's arms in the field he loved SO much. He
will be sorely missed.

What is a
Title?
-
Not
just a brag, not just a stepping stone to a higher title,
-
not
just an adjunct to competitive scores.
-
A
title is a tribute to the dog that bears it,
-
a way
to honor the dog, an ultimate memorial.
-
It
will remain in the record and in the memory
-
for
about as long as anything in this world can remain.
-
-
Few
humans will do as well or better in that regard.
-
And
though the dog himself doesn’t know or care that
-
his
achievements have been noted, a title says many things
-
in
the world of humans, where such things count.
-
-
A
title says your dog was intelligent, adaptable, and good natured.
-
It
says that your dog loved you enough to do the things that please you,
however crazy they may have sometimes seemed.
-
And a
title says that you loved your dog, that you loved to spend time with him
because he was a good dog, and you believed in him enough to give him yet
another chance when he failed, and that in the end your faith was
justified.
-
-
A
title proves that your dog inspired you to have the special relationship
enjoyed by so few;
-
that
in a world of disposable creatures this dog with a title was greatly
loved, and loved greatly in return.
-
-
And
when that dear short life is over, the title remains as a memorial of the
finest kind,
-
the
best you can give to a deserving friend, volumes of praise in one small
set of initials before or after the name.
-
-
A
title is nothing less than love and respect, given and received
permanently.

LEPUS QUEEN BAVMORDA
- (Ch. Anvi Eagle of Phaedra X Westcroft's
LadyJane at Denroc) whelped May 18, 1994 (Willie's litter sister)
Queenie
"Queenie"
is a litter sister of both "Willie" & "Kael". She finished her
Championship very quickly and had some nice placements at Specialty Shows
including 1st in Bred By Exhibitor Class, and RWB, OSA 1995. She is
a great little mover and produced a beautiful litter of puppies in 1998,
three of whom are pictured below. Their Sire is "CH. VANTAGE LIMITED
EDITION" aka "Sugar", twice B.O.S. at Whippet Specialty Shows.

LEPUS GENERAL KAEL
- (Ch. Anvi Eagle of Phaedra X Westcroft's
LadyJane at Denroc)
"Kael"
met with an untimely accidental death at Christmas time 1997. He
had a wonderful show career up until then with many fine wins, including
the above photo from the W.C.E.C. Specialty Show, June 22, 1996, under noted
British Breeder-Judge, Mr. Nev Newton (Nevedith Whippets), for Winners Dog over 23 males! Kael much preferred to Race and Lure Course, as opposed to Showing, and
made that very apparent! He was a litter brother to "Willie", Queenie
&
Jackson.
